Are you a forward-thinking drainage engineer ready to make a transformative impact on Central Florida’s infrastructure? Bayer United Engineering Consultants is seeking a seasoned Senior Drainage Engineer to drive innovative drainage design projects, mentor emerging talent, and foster strong client relationships in our dynamic Tampa, FL office.
What You’ll Do
- Innovative Drainage Design:
- Design and analyze drainage systems for roadway projects, including storm drain systems, ditch conveyance, drainage inventories, culvert analysis, and pond design analysis.
- Utilize your expertise to plan, prioritize, and review project plans and documents while evaluating alternatives and devising effective solutions.
- Client Engagement & Marketing:
- Establish and nurture relationships with new and existing clients to grow our portfolio.
- Assist with marketing pursuits and represent Bayer United at technical meetings.
- Project Leadership & Quality Control:
- Track project progress, manage budgets, and monitor backlog projections.
- Depending on experience, conduct quality control reviews of drainage deliverables.
- Prepare or guide the preparation of detailed technical reports and memorandums.
- Field Reviews & Mentorship:
- Perform field reviews to ensure design and construction excellence.
- Mentor the next of engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Leverage experience with industry-standard software including Geopak Drainage, Open Roads Designer (ORD) with 3D modeling, SUDA, ICPR 4, ArcGIS, and/or HEC-RAS.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Who You Are
- Credentials & Experience:
- A Registered Florida Professional Engineer (PE) with 10-15 years of post-PE experience in drainage design.
- Familiarity with FDOT roadway drainage design is highly desirable.
- Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent technical writing, communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in industry-specific software and modeling techniques is a significant plus.
