Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Location: East Anglia

Job Type: Both Permanent and Contract options available

Salary: £70,000 DOE

My client are leaders in innovative BESS modular design and are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the development of high-performance BESS solutions at +1MW power levels. With huge potential growth opportunities, this opportunity gives you a chance to add value in the clean energy revolution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of multiple BESS electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and field wiring diagrams in AutoCAD Electrical, following UL508A and IEC61439-1/2 standards.
• Evaluate system compliance with industry standards such as BS 7671, IEC 61508, and ISO 13849.
• Perform electrical simulations for AC/DC circuits, including load flow, fault analysis, and transient analysis.
• Oversee testing and commissioning, ensuring smooth transitions from design to operation.

Skills:

• Degree (BEng/MEng) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
• Expertise in power electronics, inverters, DC/AC conversion, and battery storage technologies.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
