Overview:
This Senior Electrical Designer opportunity is with a major EPC company based in Katy, TX. They are looking for skilled Electrical Designers to join their team. The role will start as an initial six month contract followed by a direct hire opportunity if desired.
What You Will Do in Your Role:
- Establish and maintain a safety first culture.
- Develop a safe and cost-efficient design that adheres to client specifications, national codes,
- and industry standards.
- The ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Develop, review, and maintain typical I&E equipment within the 3D CADWorx model:
- Distribution Transformers, Electrical Buildings & Equipment, Cable Bus, Field Transformers & Panel boards, Duct Bank & Stub-Ups, Cable Tray, Junction Boxes, Light Fixtures, Motor Control Stations, Create typical 3D electrical design deliverables such as cable tray plans and isometrics, lighting plans, building layouts, duct bank plans, etc.
- Create standard installation details for systems such, duct bank, lighting, and cable tray.
- Review vendor documentation (General Arrangements, etc.) and implement into the 3D
- design.
- Participate in the 3D review process (internal and client reviews).
- The ability to work independently and/or within a team of designers, on multiple projects
- simultaneously.
- Assist with developing, maintaining consistency, and improving department process, tools,
- and standards.
- The ability to communicate effectively with management, co-workers, clients, vendors,
- contractors, and other consultants.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years experience directly related with 3D detailed design of electrical
- systems.
- Working knowledge of CADWorx or AutoCAD 3D.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Microsoft office software systems
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- Practical field/construction experience.
- Experience with reviewing and verifying vendor drawings and documentation.
- Working knowledge of implementing and adhere to national codes and standards such as
- ANSI, API, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70E, PIP, etc.
- Technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Previous experience with Bluebeam software.
