Senior Electrical Engineer
Position Description As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:Complete board-level hardware design and schematic captureTackle challenging design problems, take ownership of products, and ensure designs align with Applied Medical’s technical specifications and goalsParticipate in all aspects of product development, including design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturingHandle both analog and digital board-level designs, including field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), random access memory (RAM), power supplies, peripherals, analog radio frequency (RF) front ends, and embedded systemsPerform research as required to define, specify, and develop productsOversee the product development process from concept through manufacturing and releaseFacilitate support required from Research and Development, Manufacturing, Product Marketing, and other teams to ensure successful development and timely product releaseShare technical knowledge and advise others on electrical engineering technologies and circuit designLead team to develop product documentation Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer EngineeringMinimum of three years’ experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal design with proven experience in frequency-domain, time-domain, and control systems designsAdvanced knowledge of hardware design principles, including designs using high-speed interfaces, RF front ends, and FPGA-based boardsStrong knowledge, passion, and experience of ADCs and DACs, power supply components and design, analog testing and troubleshooting, signal integrity, layout, grounding principles, basic digital design fundamentalsExperience with MATLAB, specifically SimulinkProficient with high speed transceivers, kinematics implementation, encoders and torque sensors, and video image processingStrong work ethic, drive to succeed, and ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, pressurized environmentDemonstrated ability to apply diagnostic insight to identify technical problems, propose viable options, and apply technical solutionsAdept at learning applicable technology, systems, and productsSelf-starter who takes initiative and works both independently and within a teamDrives tasks and projects to successful completion, including taking ownership of goals and schedulesDisplays excellent time-management and problem-solving skillsGrasps and engages in fast-paced technical conversationsAs a healthcare company, it is of the utmost importance to keep our teams safe and healthy in this ever-changing COVID-19 environment.
