Senior Electrical Engineer

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished Electrical Engineering professional to join a globally prominent aviation systems engineering business in Gloucestershire.

You will be responsible for leading on the development and review of electrical control systems used in an array of aerospace systems.

As a senior member in the team, you should be both technically proficient in the field of electrical engineering, whilst also being able to contribute to documentation review and design.

Whilst a background in aerospace would be advantageous, there would also an interest in professionals from other industry backgrounds including automotive and automation machinery.

Duties:

• Development and review of Interface Controls Documents.
• Development and review of Electrical requirements for various aviation control systems.
• Development and review of wiring diagrams for the various aviation control systems.
• Provide electrical technical oversight.
• Review of DO-160 Qualification test procedures and reports.
• Provide electrical support to in service aviation products.
• Run R&D activities for new technology electrical items within allocated aviation systems.
• Provide electrical support to the wider controls team R&D.
• Support with propeller system and De-Icing system integration and verification activities.
• Provide customer support for electrical/electronic aviation system elements.
• Act as a Certification Verification Engineer where required.

Background:

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, OR equivalent experience
• Experience leading electrical design elements for aerospace systems. (Desirable)
• Previous design experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of DO-160 (Desirable)
• Strong Written and Verbal communication.
• Experience with full lifecycle design philosophy.
• Aerospace exposure (Desirable).
