The opportunity
Our client is one of the leading contractors for the ongoing upgrade work to the Naval Dockyard at Devonport. They are currently searching for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer, who has a background in Building Services, to join their team. You will be joining the team who are currently upgrading the facilities aimed at the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent Submarines. This role will be remote; however, you will be required to travel to Devonport as required.
Due to the nature and location of this work, you must have a UK Passport to be considered for this role. We are unable to consider candidates from outside of the UK. The chosen candidate must also be able to secure SC Clearance or already have it in place before starting work.
12-month rolling Contract

Your duties and responsibilities will be
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will aid the Electrical Services Engineering Lead in delivery of electrical services related engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
Responsible for managing the technical deliverables of the electrical services engineering packages in line with the planned deliverables agreed by the Electrical Services Engineering Lead.
Preparing or checking designs, analyses, reports, drawings, specifications and other documentation for related Nuclear and Non-Nuclear plant equipment.
Provide technical knowledge in the solving of technical issues in new designs
Aid in the review and signoff of new designs
Providing technical assistance to wider team, and overseeing younger staff members
Provide support from an Electrical perspective for the entire project lifecycle, from initial drawings and specifications to final install and commissioning/handover.You will have the following qualifications & experience
You will have significant experience in the design of building services, including:
Alarm systems
Fire Detection
Industrial Lighting
Low Voltage Distribution Systems
Control & Instrumentation systems
Communications and Data systems
Emergency Lighting
Site Broadcasting (PA)
HVAC
Degree in relevant Engineering field or equivalent experience.
Experience in taking a project through its entire lifecycle.
Knowledge of safety requirements.It’s great if you also have the following
Previous nuclear experience
Working knowledge of relevant computer programs
Chartered Engineer status or working towards
Understanding of project planning, project management and budgeting processes.Get in touch now
