We are introducing the BrioVAD LVAS to Heart Failure clinicians for use with the large number of indicated and untreated patients who could benefit from chronic mechanical circulatory support. The initiation of our INNOVATE™ Trial in the US is only the beginning. We are building a team to develop advanced technology intended to further improve patient outcomes, increase therapy acceptance, and enabling chronic MCS therapy to be accessible to more patients across the globe.
Job Summary
BrioHealth Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge medical devices. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronics while ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will play a key role in transferring product and process technologies from R&D to Manufacturing, ensuring safety, quality, and scalability. Your expertise in circuit design, embedded systems, and electrical engineering will help translate innovative concepts into life-changing healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design Transfer
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to transition products from concept to full-scale production.
- Lead and support the transfer of manufacturing processes between international contract manufacturing sites.
- Develop and implement manufacturing plans to support new product introductions and product enhancements.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure high-quality, robust circuit designs.
- Research, select, evaluate, and test electronic components based on performance, reliability, and cost.
- Ensure designs comply with industry and medical device standards, including safety, EMC/EMI, and regulatory requirements.
- Manufacturing Process & Quality Improvement
- Design and develop manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixtures to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.
- Support all process validation activities (e.g., PC/IQ/OQ/PQ), pFMEA, DFM/DFA, risk analysis, and process control strategies.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to resolve production issues, improve throughput, and enhance yield.
- Stay current with manufacturing technologies and industry best practices.
- Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for materials, manufacturing, and equipment needs.
- Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to ensure supply chain stability.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and regulatory affairs teams to achieve seamless product integration.
- Organize, manage, and motivate cross-functional teams to implement new process technologies.
- Leadership & Innovation
- Identify technical risks, resource constraints, and solutions, fostering trust across all levels of the organization.
- Drive intellectual property development through innovative engineering solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, supporting their professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in circuit design and electrical engineering.
- Expertise in analog, digital, and power electronics design.
- Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout using tools like OrCAD and Cadence Allegro.
- Experience with embedded systems, sensors, actuators, and low-power battery-operated devices.
- Strong knowledge of EMC/EMI design, testing, and regulatory compliance.
