The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy current electrical engineering, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion. Our client is a leading engineering firm specializing in innovative solutions across various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and construction. Committed to excellence and sustainability to make a positive impact on communities.Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of heavy current electrical systems for a range of projects, including infrastructure, power generation, and industrial facilities.Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments to determine project requirements and constraints.Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.Conduct quality assurance reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and engineering standards.Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project challenges and achieve project objectives.Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in heavy current electrical engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy current electrical engineering, with a focus on design and project management.Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, and protection coordination.Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and SKM PowerTools.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
