Job Description

Senior Electrical Manager - Transit Systems

AECOM is hiring a Senior Electrical Manager located in Baltimore, MD. The position is responsible for Baltimore, Maryland, and Transit System construction sites in the suburban areas of Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD.

Job Overview

Responsible for the project management oversight (PMO) of the development, review, and acceptance of Test Program Plans and Documentation for Systems Engineering (SE) and all aspects of Systems Interface and Integration (I&I). Provides leadership and support to the client, the Systems Manager, and the Manager, Safety & Security (Certification) to meet and satisfy all regulatory requirements, reporting and safety and security acceptance, officer duties, and statutory reporting for the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the oversight of very complex test and certification program plans in a wide range of transit specific engineering disciplines to meet defined design, operations & maintenance criteria, safety certification protocols, including good engineering practices to comply with federal, state and industry regulatory requirements

  • Maintains current knowledge of specific engineering disciplines, including:

  • Light Rail Vehicle design, manufacturing, testing and acceptance

  • Traction Power

  • Overhead catenary systems

  • Train Control

  • Communications

  • Control & Monitoring systems

  • Fire Management

  • Security, Access Control

  • CCTV

  • Stray current, corrosion control & grounding

  • Fare Collection

  • Systems integration and interface

  • Testing, commissioning and Safety Certification

  • Assures that testing and commissioning documentation requirements are reviewed and accepted to support the requirements of Safety Certification

  • Support review of assessments of analyses that reflect life-cycle approaches/solutions to design, construction, maintenance and operations alternates

  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate safety and health programs, systems and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum :

  • BS Electrical Engineering or related field,

  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in Transit (light rail/heavy rail/commuter rail) systems design, construction, operations and maintenance.

Preferred:

  • Fifteen (15) plus years of experience in Transit (light rail/heavy rail/commuter rail) systems design, construction, operations and maintenance.

  • Experience should include management of teams responsible for design concepts/engineering plans, support of construction/implementation plans & schedules, testing/commissioning/safety certification of systems & equipment pre/post revenue service.

The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $105,000 to $220,000.00.
