Senior Electrical Project Engineer
An opportunity has emerged for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer seeking to advance their skills and career in Electrical Engineering. This role offers the chance to collaborate with Electrical Engineers and commercial developers on HV/LV and process control equipment and projects within a rapidly expanding sector of the business.
Responsibilities:
* Design and engineer electrical systems for various applications, including grid-scale installations, commercial and industrial facilities, and energy projects.
* Perform feasibility studies, technical evaluations, provide independent expert advice, and offer technical oversight throughout project delivery.
* Perform system modelling, simulation, and optimization to maximize the performance and efficiency of energy & storage systems.
* Develop and implement control strategies for systems, ensuring safety and reliability.
* Support project development activities, including site visits, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports and proposals
* Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to both project and operational teams as required.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as utilities, regulatory bodies, and technology suppliers, to facilitate successful project execution and maintain industry relationships.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* Professional engineering certification or chartered engineer status.
* Proven experience in engineering, and implementation of power solutions.
* Familiarity with process control and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
* Solid understanding of grid integration requirements, power system dynamics, and relevant industry standards (e.g. IEC, ENA, BS7671).
* Proficiency in system modelling and simulation software, such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
Role Detials:
* Based remotely (at home) with UK project-based assignment work as required
* Frequent periods of travel for project and site work
* Occasional overseas travel for meetings, site visits and project work
* Willingness and ability to travel to and work from site facilities and offices across the UK
