Wood Rodgers, a leading California-based engineering consulting firm with a growing office in Las Vegas, NV is hiring a senior project engineer to join our Land Development team. We are seeking someone that enjoys a variety of civil engineering projects performed on behalf of private and public sector clients. Under limited direction, a Senior Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering tasks and acts as a supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or technical support staff. A senior engineer may serve as a project manager on a single major, or several minor, engineering project(s).
This is an Associate, salary, exempt position.
A day in the life as a Wood Rodgers' Senior EngineerWhile there is no typical day when you are managing projects and employees, there are a few things you can count on:
- Preparation of engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for private improvements and public works projects.
- Preparation of construction plans, construction submittal reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and practices.
- Manage resources efficiently and address any delays or obstacles that may arise during the project life cycle.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and other professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supervise technical support staff on as-needed basis. Will assist in managing budget and workload. The ability to eventually take on budget management and invoicing responsibilities would be a plus.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
- 8+ years minimum experience required performing the essential duties listed above.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- Proficiency using AutoCAD, including Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- P.E. License in NV Required.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, organize and analyze engineering data and make comprehensive reports.
- Efficiently manage a variety of engineering functions.
- Ability to work as a member of an engineering team.
- Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with those contacted in the course of work; communicate effectively both orally in and in writing.

The range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount. Offers will be based on several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, training, and location. Base pay is just one part of the comprehensive compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.
