Role Description:

Our Enabling Infrastructure team under the Western and Wales sector is currently seeking to locate a career minded Senior Design Engineer who wants to be involved in the design of development led infrastructure centered around Birmingham. We are looking for someone who has experience in the design of infrastructure and drainage solutions for development, highways, and rail projects. We would provide support in achieving Chartered / Incorporated status through an ICE training agreement.

Role Accountabilities:

You will be providing engineering design support within the Land Development Infrastructure team, providing technical advice. Prepare development related infrastructure design commissions including surface water, foul water, highways, and utilities design to meet the client’s requirements and adoptable standards, taking responsibility for technical output. Support the delivery of projects including quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications. And lastly, work in collaboration with other design disciplines and contractor D&B teams to ensure the integrity of the overall design.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Land development infrastructure background (surface water, foul water drainage, highway and utility design)
• Knowledge of SuDS, SfA, DMRB, and Local Authority design standards;
• Experienced in preparing initial feasibility and site appraisal studies, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver successful planning applications
• Experienced in detailed infrastructure design preferably in using and managing Autodesk Civils 3D for infrastructure design and skilled in use of Microdrainage/Infodrainage for drainage design.
• Experience of design delivery to BIM protocols.
• Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Made good progress toward achieving Chartered or Incorporated status.
