Senior Environmental Advisor

As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our highways project adheres to all environmental regulations and best practices. You will provide expert guidance and oversight, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations into all phases of the project.



Key Responsibilities:



Develop and implement environmental management plans and strategies for the highways scheme.

Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Monitor and report on environmental performance, including air quality, noise, biodiversity, and waste management.

Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to address environmental concerns.

Provide training and support to project teams on environmental best practices.

Identify and mitigate environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead environmental audits and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.

Prepare and submit environmental documentation and reports as required.Qualifications and Experience:



A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental advisory role, preferably within the infrastructure or construction sectors.

Proven experience in managing environmental aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly highways schemes.

Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Certification in environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) is highly desirable.
