The Opportunity

This company is a leading specialist technical consultancy and engineering company in the nuclear sector. They integrate the expertise of their specialist consultants and engineers to address some of the most complex technical challenges in the sector today. Due to their successful project expansion, our client is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to drive and support the development of all E&D work.



The Role

As a Senior Environmental Consultant within the Environmental and Delicensing (E&D) discipline of this company, you will participate in core E&D tasks and activities ranging from site delicensing, land characterization, waste characterization, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incident response and will have the opportunity to support other projects and discipline areas such as Safety Case, Waste, Decommissioning and Dismantling (D&D) etc.



Your duties and responsibilities will be 

Performing E&D related tasks and activities and providing support to other disciplines as required by client contracts.

Carrying out desk-based and client-based research to produce site history/desktop study documentation.

Preparation and delivery of workshop presentations to stakeholders (including the production of supporting documentation).

Producing sampling and analysis plans when required with the use of statistical and non-statistical software.

Providing data assessments (including the production of assessment reports using statistical and non-statistical methods).

Provision of advice to clients regarding sampling methods that meet project or regulatory assessment criteria.

Representing the project team at client and regulatory meetings where necessary.

Gaining experience and confidence in the use of the DQO methodology.

Sharing learning and providing training and coaching to other members of team and across the organization.

Contributing to business development by; supporting proposals, bids, and other internal activities, seeking and implementing improvement initiatives and building on job opportunities.

Undertaking activities in support of continuous professional development.

Delivering consultancy that meets and exceeds the expectations of the client in regard to technical excellence, project management, timescales, costs and quality of project deliverables.

Nurturing client relationships as to support the long-term growth of the business and build on its reputation.

Supporting the management of E&D work (in the form of small to medium sized projects) either as a project lead, technical lead or sub-team leader when the opportunity arises.

Coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure both technical and commercial progress.

Developing knowledge and skills to support the growth of the business.You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience

A degree in an environmental or related science or engineering discipline.

Experience in a consultancy or industry environment.

Experience in project management.

Experience in site delicensing, land characterization, waste characterization, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incident response.

Experience in producing sampling and analysis plans using statistical and non-statistical software.

Experience in providing data assessments using statistical and non-statistical methods.

Experience in providing advice to clients regarding sampling methods that meet project or regulatory assessment criteria.

Experience in representing the project team at client and regulatory meetings.

Experience in the use of the DQO methodology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Full driving license.It's Great If You Also Have the Following

Experience in Safety Case, Waste, Decommissioning and Dismantling (D&D) etc.
