Senior Estimator

Reporting to the Vice President of Pre-Construction & Estimating, the Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in calculating major construction cost estimates, planning, developing, negotiating, and executing contracts for projects. Responsibilities: Here's What You’ll be Responsible for: Analyzing plans and specifications, clarifying locations, and documenting discrepancies. Confirming the need for a site visit and coordinating attendance. Organizing plans and specifications for display, distribution, and posting on the company website. Completing pre-bid forms and setting up a summary sheet. Filling out bonding and insurance requests and submissions. Preparing a sub-trade request list for the estimating assistant. Soliciting bidders, preparing a sub-trade request list for distribution, and noting special trades to be personally called. Managing RFI’s internally and from sub-trades and maintaining a log. Performing take-offs and extensions for all trades, with a focus on divisions 2 (30) and division 3 scope of work. Reading and understanding soils and designated substance reports. Conducting a cut and fill take-off, excavation backfill, site servicing, and formwork and concrete quantities and pricing. Working on unit-rate tenders and performing take-offs directly related to the units. Attending site visits, taking pictures, notes, and interacting with owner/consultant. Recapitulating, pricing, and extending quantity take-off. Reading, understanding, and distributing all addenda. Building a preliminary tender schedule based on major and long delivery dates and reviewing with the construction department. Preparing the closing sheet. Identifying risk or opportunity avenues. Preparing the tender form in advance. Preparing comparison spreadsheets for individual divisions of work for closing. Closing a division or more during a tender. Performing Class D, C, B, and A budgets and interacting with clients. Qualification Requirements: Qualification Criteria: Possess an Engineering degree, Construction Management degree, Technical College diploma, or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience. Accumulate a minimum of 10 years of experience in the ICI construction industry or an equivalent field. Demonstrate experience in Construction Management and Design Build projects. Exhibit proficiency in computer skills, including the effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Showcase a proven ability to successfully manage tender closings. Possess in-depth knowledge across all facets of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements. Possession of Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset. LEED Accreditation is valued as an asset. Familiarity with Procore and BIM software is advantageous. Job ID: #16393138
