Senior Estimator
Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM FM is recruiting a Senior Estimator to join our team. The position can be based at any of our North FM Offices. The position will involve a mixture of working from home, on site and working out of our offices. BAM operates a flexible working policy. Your mission The Senior Estimator will be focused on pricing and winning new tenders and existing framework opportunities for the business. You will be responsible for all elements of the pricing for bids, from modelling the costs and assessing the margins, through to completing bid pricing documents and client presentations. Effectively utilise skills, experience, and knowledge within a team environment to produce multi-million-pound tenders which will win profitable work and drive the strategy for the BAM FM Business. The role is reporting into the Head of of Business Development. Key activities • Pricing and winning new tenders and existing framework opportunities for the business. • Responsible for all elements of the pricing for bids, from modelling the costs and assessing the margins, through to completing bid pricing documents and client presentations. • Manage robust and long-term relationships with clients and internal teams in line with the general strategy. • Assist in managing the production of tender documents and attending pre-tender and post tender interviews. • Ensure that all target prospects, existing clients and tender opportunities are qualified for building long term growth. • Full understanding of ITT documents to identify any risks or requirements to be included within our submission. • Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlement. • Engagement with wider business including Operational and Commercial leads to finalise solution. • Responsibility for determining most competitive cost proposal through labour load, sub-contract quotations and most efficient delivery solution. • Responsible for populating clients pricing document ready for submission. • Line management responsibilities of the Estimators. Who are we looking for? • A Senior Estimating background within Hard FM/IFM market. • Must have experienced in managing a team. • Proven project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. • Experience of implementing processes and service standards. • Must be familiar working with Excel and possesses excellent commercial skills. • Experience of working within a fast-paced corporate environment. • Knowledge of direct labour resource within Integrated Facilities Management in terms of market cost. • Excellent commercial awareness coupled with a strategic mind-set. • Competent knowledge of IT packages. • Understanding of how efficiency can be achieved/optimised within a IFM environment with regard to fixed site resource and mobile resource. • Understand how a supply chain consolidates and interfaces with direct delivery for strategic/specialist/local generic service providers. • Solid knowledge of FM market performance, reporting and tender processes. • Excellent organisational, presentation and interpersonal skills. • Achieve set standards and operate to performance criteria. • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment. • Excellent attention to detail. • Understanding of contract types within the contracted facilities management industry. • Understanding of marketing requirement.
