Senior Estimator - Electrical Construction

Location: Kansas City, MO

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to handle major construction cost calculations and be actively involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and utilities.

Thoroughly research construction documents and analyze specifications.

Prepare detailed estimates for project planning, organization, and scheduling.

Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions, and develop conceptual budgets.

Strategize to meet project goals, including task sequencing, materials procurement, and vendor negotiations.

Ensure timely submission of necessary documents and budgets for bidding.

Regularly update Management and clients on project status.

Formulate contingency plans to manage risks affecting cost and time estimates.

Stay updated on estimating technology and techniques.

Collaborate with teams, conduct site visits, and assist in other related tasks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent. Relevant experience can substitute for educational requirements.

8-20 years of experience in electrical construction estimation.

Strong multitasking, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in negotiation, collaboration, research, proposal writing, and presentations.

Knowledgeable in industry practices and standards.

Advanced computer and software skills (Microsoft Office, ConEst).

Willingness to perform site visits and travel as needed.
