Job Summary: The Senior Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs of signage projects, from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are competitively priced while maintaining profitability. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the signage industry, including materials, labor, and production processes. The Senior Estimator will collaborate with various departments, including sales, design, production, and installation, to develop comprehensive and accurate project estimates. Key Responsibilities: Project Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information for accurate estimations. Cost Estimation: Develop detailed estimates for all aspects of signage projects, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other costs. Utilize industry-standard software and tools to prepare accurate and competitive estimates. Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices. Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms for materials and services. Maintain a database of reliable vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with sales, design, production, and installation teams to ensure all project requirements are understood and met. Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify project scope and resolve any discrepancies. Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs remain within approved estimates. Identify and address any potential cost overruns or budgetary concerns. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed records of all estimates, including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and supporting documentation. Generate regular reports on estimation activities, project costs, and profitability. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in materials, and changes in production techniques to continuously improve estimation accuracy and efficiency. Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications: Education:  Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Relevant industry certifications are a plus. Experience:  Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost estimation within the signage industry or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD). Strong understanding of signage materials, production processes, and installation techniques. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Analytical Skills:  Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to accurately estimate costs and evaluate project feasibility. Communication Skills:  Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Attention to Detail:  High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Organizational Skills:  Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Problem-Solving:  Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to ensure project success.
