Senior / Principal Flood Risk Consultant\n\nLocation: Cambridge or remote based with occasional office travel \n\nSalary: up to 55k plus benefits \n\nWe are seeking a Senior/Principal Consultant with experience in 1D and 1D-2D hydraulic modelling in flood risk to join a multi-disciplinary team working flexibly from the Cambridge office and from home.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nBuild and run hydraulic models using Flood Modeller Pro and TUFLOW.\n\nPrepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports.\n\nProvide technical advice and mentor junior staff.\n\nManage projects across the UK, supporting planning applications.\n\nAssist with project financial management and team resourcing.\n\nPrepare proposals, bids, and tenders.\n\nConduct business development and liaise with clients and stakeholders.\n\nUndertake site visits.\n\nRequirements:\n\nDegree in hydrology, geography, civil engineering, or related field.\n\nExperience in hydrological analysis (ReFH2, WINFAP) and hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW).\n\nFamiliarity with GIS, Microsoft Office, and the NPPF.\n\nAbility to review models, mentor staff, and manage workloads.\n\nKnowledge of drainage strategy and SuDS is desirable.\n\nBenefits:\n\nCompetitive salary.\n\n25+ days annual leave, including birthday and service-based increases.\n\nFlexible working options.\n\nCompany-paid mobile phone and professional membership.\n\nLife assurance and pension contribution.\n\nWellbeing initiatives, including cycle-to-work scheme and social events.\n\nThis company prioritize the team's wellbeing and work-life balance, offering a supportive and inclusive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and satisfaction
