Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Engineering Geologist - ( 240003MJ ) Description About the role Our established Geosciences team provides a range of first-class geotechnical engineering services using a wide variety of investigation and analysis techniques. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Engineering Geologist to join our team of professionals in our Geosciences business. We are flexible for this role to be based in either Brisbane (Fortitude Valley) or Mackay with flexible working arrangements such as work from home, staggered hours and other flexibility options. Day to day tasks would involve: Plan, coordinate and manage site investigations to deliver geotechnical investigative reports - including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and making recommendations. Undertaking geotechnical analyses, modelling and design in areas such as slope stability, pavements, landfills, dams, foundations, retaining walls and other structures. Leading or undertaking the modelling of complex geotechnical problems; Working as part of a team on a wide range of projects with experienced and highly qualified engineers, hydrogeologists, geotechnicians and environmental scientists/engineers. Managing a diverse range of projects from inception to completion. Participating in the quoting and delivery of projects; ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard to meet client expectations and timelines. Undertaking engineering judgement, interpretation and analysis of data to develop and implement best practice to provide practical and commercial solutions. Producing high quality technical reports. To be successful for this role you’ll need: Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Geology. At least eight years’ experience in geotechnical engineering preferably with experience in leading geotechnical design of projects. Experience in field geotechnical investigations including logging and supervision of geotechnical drilling activities as well as laboratory testing knowledge. Current Drivers Licence and the ability to travel to remote sites for project work. Working towards being a Chartered Engineer (RPEQ/ CPEng/ NER) will be highly regarded. Strong report writing coupled with excellent communication skills.
