YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior GIS Technician for a 1-year contract position with the potential for full-time conversion. This role offers the chance to work on challenging projects within the utilities sector, and to grow your skills. You will be working directly with our client at their regional office, and therefore relocation is required.

COMPENSATION:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $28.00 - $34.00 ($58,240 - $70,720 annually).
  • Annual performance-based bonus.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop and maintain GIS workflows and presentations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute project plans.
  • Communicate GIS initiatives effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Analyze test results and implement solutions to optimize GIS processes.
  • Generate reports on project status for management and team members.
  • Train end users on new or modified GIS programs.
  • Research and evaluate emerging GIS technologies.
  • Work with external vendors to ensure successful software implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in geospatial analysis and mapping solutions within the Gas Utilities or Energy Sector.
  • Expertise in GE Smallworld/Gas Distribution Office.
  • Extensive knowledge of Esri Utility Pipeline Database Model (UPDM) and Utility Network (UN).
  • Advanced skills in Esri ArcGIS Pro, Esri Enterprise, Portal, ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder, and Field Operation/Mobile Applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server for database management.
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Familiarity with Construction Management Applications.
  • Ability to understand and utilize various programming for writing, modifying, and executing programs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • GISP Certification is .

LOCATION:

  • This role requires relocation to a client's regional office, preferably Dallas, TX, or one of the following locations: Lubbock, TX, Denver, CO, Franklin, TN, New Orleans, LA, or Jackson, MS

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work across U.S. time zones as needed.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background check.
