Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Job Description
Western Digital is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join the Security team, to work closely with the Security Engineers, Architects to produce a high-quality security hardware.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for analyzing the Hardware threat surfaces and vectors for the Security Enclave and SOCs. You will define and implement the mitigation plans for the threats. You will participate in Hardware Security Policy definition for an embedded device related to data storage.
Evaluate the emerging Security Hardware technologies and include them in the roadmap.
Architect, design, and prototype product agnostic platform with Secure Enclave capable of enabling next- security solutions for the products with the emphasis on the Security Processor and scalable Secure interface.
Responsible for implementing the latest in the security functionalities such as Cryptographic Algorithms, Entropy , Secret Management, Access Control Management, Integrity and Authenticity enforcement.
Participate in code, verification plan, and validation plan review of RTL, ROM, and Firmware. You will define a framework for hardware development process to detect and prevent potential security issues during early development and also architect and design hardware vulnerability test bed for side-channel attacks.
Participate in cross-functional hardware architecture, design and review meetings representing security to help guard security and will also provide guidance to platform hardware engineers for seamless integration of Secure Enclave.
Participate in research group discussions related to security advances in academia. You will research Secure and Performant implementation of the Cryptographic Algorithms using advanced Modeling Framework.
Responsible for mentoring engineers for Secure Enclave RTL development, verification, and integration.
