Job Description We are seeking a Senior High Voltage Plant Engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position would be based in Glasgow or Birmingham, with a flexible mixture of home-working and office/site collaboration time expected. You will have a strong attention to detail and enjoy ensuring high quality delivery of FEED and detailed design deliverables.You should have a strong awareness of deadlines and have the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.Building strong and trusted relationships is a key part of this role. You’ll enjoy working with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometimes from our offices. You’ll be client focused – being able interface with clients, understand their needs and convert opportunities into successful workstreams.Examples of the types of work you may be involved in:Providing Leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream for National Grid.Acting as BP141/equivalent assurance engineer where required.Reviewing the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations and technical specification for the HV plant equipment.Coordination with back-office engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.Attending and chairing design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing HV plant design packages as required.Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required.What you can bring?In addition to strong communication and leadership skills, key attributes include:Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.Strong understanding and leadership of the engineering projects through asset lifecycles.Track record of leading teams in the delivery of Front-End Engineering and design or Detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects.Experience of working for a client organisation such as transmission system owner/operator, distribution network operator or a design consultancy delivering to such organisation.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.You may also demonstrate a selection of the following desirable requirements:Chartered Engineer through the IET.BP141 or equivalent authorised or ability to do so.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?The UK is the first major economy to legislate for a Net Zero target by 2050.
