Oxford – Hybrid (3 days onsite)

 

Overview:

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global life science company for an experienced Senior IAM Engineer to join the team. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and architecting the IAM infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of IAM principles and hands-on experience with the specified technologies including Okta, and the ability to drive security initiatives across the organization.

 

Role and Responsibilities:



Design, implement, and manage IAM solutions using AWS IAM, Okta, Active Directory, and EntraID.

Develop and maintain IAM policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Conduct regular IAM audits and assessments to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions with various applications and systems.

Provide technical expertise and support for IAM-related projects and initiatives.

Stay current with the latest IAM technologies, trends, and best practices.

Mentor and train junior IAM engineers and other IT staff on IAM concepts and technologies.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM issues and incidents.

Take ownership to resolve issues related to identities, systems access, accounts, authentication, authorisation, entitlements, and permissions - whilst producing guides, tooling, automation and sharing knowledge to empower our Service Desk where possible. 

Essential Skills and Experience:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in IAM engineering or a related role

Extensive experience with AWS IAM, Okta, Active Directory, and EntraID

Strong understanding of IAM principles, including authentication, authorization, and federation

IAM architecture experience

Proven track record of designing and implementing IAM solutions in complex environments

Knowledge of network security technologies

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Okta Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: and Access Administrator Associate) are a plus
