Senior Instrument Engineer

Roles and responsibilities Provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matter pertaining design in discipline area Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes, standards and Company standards. Coordinate, Monitor and handle discipline design and engineering with EPC CONTRACTOR as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame. Work with other discipline engineers within Engineering/Operation/Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc. Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Discipline Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Principal Accountabilities Ensure integration of overall Discipline System Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Discipline Engineering Team Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Discipline design activities. Review and approval of EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices in compliance with the contractual review periods. Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation. Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization. Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects. Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops. Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers. Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation. Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning. Qualifications B.S. or equivalent degree in Instrument or / and Control System Engineering from an accredited university Must have been in Consultant organization for at least 5 years in similar position and must have previous PMC and EPC experience Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the offshore oil and gas industry Must have subsea cables experience in the same role Experience on control system and functional safety competencies F&G detectors’ experience Knowledge on area classification/enclosure protection Experience in field instruments (flow & level measurements) Experience in SIL assessment & verification Experience in control valve sizing & shutdown valves actuator selection Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards. Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems. Desired candidate profile Instrumentation Design : Expertise in designing and specifying instruments for process control and monitoring, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems. Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of instrumentation principles, control theory, and relevant technologies (e.g., PLCs, DCS). Project Management : Strong skills in managing projects, including planning, resource allocation, and ensuring timely delivery. Regulatory Compliance : Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISA, IEC, ATEX) to ensure that designs meet safety and quality requirements. Troubleshooting : Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving instrumentation issues in real-time to minimize downtime. Data Analysis : Ability to analyze data from instrumentation systems to optimize performance and reliability. Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Team Leadership : Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Quality Assurance : Ensuring that instrumentation designs and installations comply with quality standards and best practices. Cost Management : Understanding of budgeting and cost estimation related to instrumentation projects. Areas of Expertise Control Systems : Designing and implementing control systems, including PID control loops and automated systems. Calibration and Maintenance : Developing calibration procedures and maintenance plans for instrumentation systems to ensure accuracy and reliability. Hazardous Area Management : Knowledge of safety practices related to hazardous locations, including the selection of explosion-proof equipment. Vendor Management : Coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Documentation : Preparing technical documentation, including specifications, datasheets, and user manuals.
