Senior Laser Process Development Engineer

We seek a Laser Process Development Engineer to work in a fast-paced, international, development environment. You will become a part of a young, ambitious and highly motivated team based in Zurich, Switzerland and take over building ultrafast lasers.As a Laser Process development Engineer you will take on challenges in areas that include:Product development in close collaboration with the Optical, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation and Manufacturing Engineering TeamsDevelop manufacturing processes for time effectiveness and qualityIndependent characterization and analysis of laser systemsAssembly, optimization, and testing of laser prototypes using robot systemsDefine product requirements, optical specifications and design of optical components, assemblies and testsExecute continuous improvement methods like FMEA, SDR, A3 and 3PDrive process improvements and cycle time reductionLead product transfer to the Manufacturing Team in Thailand (, training engineers and technicians, troubleshooting, etc.)PLEASE BRING WITH YOU:Master degree in Physics or Engineering with >5 years of industry experience in manufacturing of optical products.Strong background in laser optics and experience with opto-mechanical alignment processesExperience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Quality (DFQ) within a structured product development process in an industrial environmentTeamwork orientation with strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills, as well as commitment to continuous improvementExperience using test and measurement equipment for laser characterization (autocorrelators, power meters, spectrometers, oscilloscopes, optical and RF spectrum analyzers, etc.)The role is made for you if you have the ability to multi-task, are a team player with excellent communication skills and have the drive to design and build software in rapid fashion while applying engineering best practices.
