Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Destinus is an aerospace technology company founded on the belief that distance shouldn’t matter in the future. We are, therefore, building the near-space vehicle and the associated infrastructure. Moving at the border of Space, our hydrogen-powered vehicles are ten times faster than conventional aircraft, providing the just-in-time backbone for logistics, e-commerce, and supply chain companies that can't wait. We define a new class of fast: our mission is to bring instantly your stuff to the other part of the world—and we mean it literally. Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement efforts across the manufacturing process. This position will optimize production workflows, implement process improvements, and ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to the highest efficiency and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in manufacturing engineering, proven problem-solving skills, and experience with lean manufacturing principles. Tasks Process Improvement: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Creation of a test bench capable of automatically testing, identifying deviations from specified parameters and recording the parameters of the device being tested, and creating an electronic passport for each device. Production Support: Provide technical support to the production team to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation. Develop and modify production workflows, equipment layout, and process parameters. Make changes to the technological process to reduce faults during assembly. Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify cost reduction and operational efficiency opportunities through process analysis and data-driven decision-making. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality department to ensure all manufacturing processes comply with internal standards and customer specifications. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality-related issues. Establish and optimize the testing process to reduce the release time of the finished device. Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of new manufacturing projects. Oversee project timelines, budget adherence, and resource allocation. Equipment & Tooling Design: Collaborate with the design and maintenance teams to develop and improve production tooling, fixtures, and equipment to meet production needs. Training & Development: Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on process improvements, safety protocols, and efficient work practices. Train personnel in assembly, debugging, and testing of devices. Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans. Cost Analysis: Perform cost analysis of manufacturing processes and propose improvements to reduce production costs without compromising quality. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments preferred. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, process improvement tools, and experience and knowledge of electronic debugging equipment (oscilloscope, generator, multimeter, etc.). Understand the electronics and mechanics of unmanned aerial vehicles. Experience with CAD software, PM software (ORCAD, EAGLE, Altium, EasyEda, FPGA, Microcontrollers, Industrial interfaces, Low-level programming, PM, Microsoft Office, Notion, Trello, etc.), and process simulation software is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints. Fluent English knowledge is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
