Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager Projects

Are you a Senior Contracts Manager with a mechanical engineering background? Have you got experience of taking a contract from the cradle to the grave, being involved in winning and quoting works, delivery, and hand over. if so, this opportunity could be perfect for you.

Based in the Wiltshire area this position offers a salary ranging between £70-80k with Car and package on top, salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will reside in or around Wiltshire, BS, BA, GL, TA postcodes would be perfect.

Due to ongoing growth this position has been created to free up the director to focus on other areas of the business.

As Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager you will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to completion, these could be anything from commercial boiler replacements to complete fitout and installations for HVAC plant, equipment. The typical project will range from £500k up to £5m in mechanical value, applicants should therefore have proven experience as the overall mechanical lead on projects of this size.

You will ideally be working in a senior position within an M&E contracting business and will be looking to continue in a strategic role developing the businesses mechanical contracting division, aligned with your equivalent electrical colleagues, you will take advantage of and develop our existing clients project manager(s) staff and subcontract supply chain to the betterment of the department.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Developing the business mechanical contact division
  • Develop existing client project managers, staff, and sub-contract supply chains
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure and hit deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Work closely with Senior Managers / Supervisors
  • Managing compliance and maintenance sub-contractors.
  • Manage project cost procurement, analysis, appraisal, and budgeting.
  • Ensure programs are agreed upon with clients and contractors before project commencement, updated as needed, and key deadlines are met.

Technical Skills / Knowledge Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualifications: - Mechanical Engineering City and Guilds or equivalent
  • HVAC and Plant room refurbishment and new build project experience

Engineering background / qualified in -

  • Commercial Gas desirable
  • F-Gas advantages
