Job Description:
They are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join Manchester team. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional ready to lead innovative projects and support our commitment to excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop detailed mechanical designs for various building projects, ensuring high technical standards.
- Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and schedules using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Conduct and oversee feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments.
- Define project briefs and budgets in client meetings, ensuring clear communication.
- Ensure designs comply with legislation, codes of practice, and building regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Oversee the preparation and evaluation of tender documentation, providing clear recommendations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior staff, aiding their professional development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
- Participate in marketing efforts to expand our client base and contribute to proposals for M&E projects.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; a Master's degree is .
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or near completion.
- Proficiency with mechanical design software such as MEPWorx / IES, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- In-depth understanding of legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, and building regulations.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with a proven track record in managing successful M&E teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., CIBSE).
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
