Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our key client in Stockport with at least five + years' experience in a similar role.



The ideal candidate will have experience designing bespoke equipment and automation solutions for customers. This could include special purpose/ bespoke machinery, packaging lines, conveyor systems, robotics or other automated systems & machinery.



Key Responsibilities:



The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing bespoke and customised project designs for customers from concept to completion.

Liaising with other departments including manufacturing, electrical design and also customers to ensure products are correct

Carry out design & hand calculations and use FEA software

Mentor junior design engineers and lead by example

Solve problems and issues for customers in relation to their design requests



Key Attributes:



Experience designing bespoke automation systems or similar

Solidworks 3D proficient but would consider another software if the candidate has the right background and experience in automation/ machinery/ robotics

Experience with hydraulics/ pneumatics beneficial

Strong problem solver
