Company Overview



A world-class manufacturer of state-of-the-art compressed air and gas solutions are looking to recruit a new Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to enhance their existing team.



Working within the Engineering team you will support product development and engineering activities for both new and existing products. You will play a key role in moving new products through the full product design process from initial concept, through the development phase and into manufacture, including the implementation of product and process improvement projects to the existing product portfolio.



Skills & Experience:



* Degree in Product / Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering.



* 3-5 years’ experience working within a design / manufacturing environment.



* Proactive desire to drive and manage product development projects.



* Sound understanding of material selection, production, and manufacturing processes.



* Good 3D CAD skills (ideally Solidworks).



* Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a desire to get things right first time.



Responsibilities:



* Product design and development for new and existing products.



* Support research and development activities, prototype builds and testing.



* Identification, consideration, and implementation of product improvement projects.



* Creation of production ready data including engineering drawings, bills of materials and 3D CAD models.



* Liaise with suppliers through the complete product development process.



* Understanding and implementation of relevant product approvals.



* Technical support for customers, suppliers and development partners as required.



* Involvement in the management of product development projects
