Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Coventry \n\nA leading UK provider of bespoke solutions in the Metrology market is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team based in Coventry. Serving both UK and global customers, the company provides solutions ranging from one-off fixtures to fully automated measurement systems. Their high-profile customer base spans industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, and Orthopaedics, among others.

\n\nResponsibilities: \nThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of Gauges, Fixtures, and Systems. You will work closely with Software and Electrical Engineers and Technicians as projects move from concept to testing and final delivery. \nKey activities include:\n\nUnderstanding and interpreting customer requirements.\nDeveloping innovative concepts to meet customer needs.\nCritically reviewing your own and team members' designs to ensure robustness.\n3D modelling of concepts and detailed designs for manufacturing.\nProducing 2D manufacturing drawings.\nSupporting technicians in the assembly and testing of designs.\nApplying strong mechanical knowledge throughout the design process.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nA HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.\nExperience using a 3D CAD package.\nKnowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes.\nExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions for complex challenges.\nFamiliarity with industry standard drafting practices.\nStrong communication skills for liaising with technical and project stakeholders.\nDesirable Requirements:\nExperience in fixture design.\nExperience in machinery design.\nKnowledge of CE marking.\nEmployment Type:\nPermanent, full-time position.
