Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

White Label is representing an established engineering business in Sheffield that require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.



This role will contribute significantly to delivering engineering integrity and excellence across my client’s diverse portfolio of large-scale bespoke projects across the globe.



My client is offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience plus:



* 37.5 hours with flexible start and finish times

Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer



* Apply engineering principles combined with engineering knowledge and experience. Undertake, inform and direct, calculations, analysis, detail design, safety argument development, test and assurance activity.



* Evaluate and define requirements for the design of mechanical systems working collaboratively with other disciplines.



* Apply knowledge of standards and codes to the design for manufacture, assembly, installation and maintenance of the mechanical system aspects of lifting and handling machinery.



* Supporting coaching and mentoring others to achieve delivery of engineering outputs, project outcomes and professional development.



Experience required of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer



* Degree qualified in a relevant subject or strongly demonstrable equivalent career experience, a Chartered Engineer with an appropriate professional body or demonstrable capability to achieve this status.



* Experienced 3D CAD user (ideally Inventor).



* Experience conducting engineering calculations using Mathcad is highly desirable.



* 5 years or more experience heavy industry such as mechanical handling, cranes, material handling, heavy machinery, oil and gas, nuclear etc.
