We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design, analysis, and development of compressed gas cylinders, compressors (including refrigeration systems), vacuum chambers, and custom laboratory vessels. Proficiency in SolidWorks and
a thorough understanding of ASME standards are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of pressure-retaining equipment, including gas cylinders, vacuum chambers, and refrigeration compressors.
- Create detailed 3D models and production-ready drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses (stress, fatigue, thermal, etc.) to ensure compliance with ASME and other relevant codes.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, manufacturing instructions, and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement to ensure design intent and product integrity are maintained throughout the development cycle.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and drafters.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership and decision-making support.
- Interface with customers and vendors to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Support testing and validation of prototypes and finished products.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to pressure systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks for complex mechanical assemblies and pressure vessel design.
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes and standards.
- Experience with compressed gas systems, refrigeration compressors, and vacuum technologies is required.
- Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS) is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques, welding, machining, and material selection for pressure equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one is a plus.
- Design of cryogenic or high-pressure gas systems.
