Senior Mechanical Engineer--metal forming / coatings

OverviewThe Mechanical Enclosure and Finish Team has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Material Preparation and Treatment Engineer. This position is responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of all mechanical surface preparation and chemical pre-treatments processes required to deliver the right scalable solution at the right cost on time. The correct individual will bring an open mindset, challenge the status quo with regards to traditional vs. emerging technologies and utilize a logical and disciplined approach to evaluate and select the correct set of solutions. He/she will drive alignment between design, material and process selection and will own seamless integration of these processes into the overall process flow. The right individual will see this as an opportunity to bring new and competitive ideas to the table that result in a competitive advantage to both performance and cost. QualificationsRequired Qualifications7+ years related technical engineering experienceOR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience.An established record of leadership in a Technology Development Role.A strong demonstration of the application of structured problem solving on big problems and the ability to quickly provide distinct and precise updates to LT.Technically competent with various statistical software, such as Minitab or JMP.Ability to interface with design and peer engineering teams to achieve convergence on holistic solutions.Organization skills required to manage many projects simultaneously, deploy goals, measure progress and develop countermeasures as required.Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, engineers, management, and all levels of production, and other departments.Experience leading and coaching in a collaborative and results orientated environment is essential.Preferred Qualifications11+ years related technical engineering experienceOR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Proven leadership record, team development, and strategic planning and implementation.Adept at managing internal and external relationships through use of interpersonal skills.Ability to work in diverse cultural environments with cultural sensitivity.ResponsibilitiesTechnologist responsible for defining development plans for rapid prototyping of new technologies associated with surface treatments and forming.Identify technology partners leading the industry in novel approaches to enclosure technologies.Manage relationships with both technology and development partners.
