Senior Network Infrastructure Technician
The role of the Senior Network Infrastructure Technician is to plan and install all new components or implement new components on pre-existing networks.

This role includes running CAT 6 or 6a cable, installing/building/dressing new racks, re-configuring old racks, installing switches, installing/terminating fiber and all associated equipment, and strategic planning to keep old systems "alive" while putting in new systems. Technician’s role is also accountable for identification of telephone, intercom, security systems and other related electronic infrastructure for business to ensure old cable can be removed without service interruptions to existing infrastructure.

This Senior Network Infrastructure Technician is responsible for the following essential duties:

  • Identifying various components of old LAN infrastructure and either upgrading or installing new components.
  • Oversee the build of a new LAN under guidelines of the customer.
  • Design, install, test, document, and cutover high-functioning computer network connections including cabling, fiber, switching, wireless access points (internal and external), and power protection equipment.
  • Removing old cable, switching, access points, or other network hardware.
  • Address and solve system network infrastructure weaknesses and break points in order to maximize bandwidth.
  • Work with customers to ensure maximum productivity for the install project while keeping existing infrastructure in place for daily business during the build.
  • Minimal construction experience to allow for structural analysis and installation of cable pathways, jhooks, raceway, conduit, wall penetrations, and pipe installations in IDF/MDF's.

Technical Requirements
This field requires that a technician possess a mix of technical skills to succeed. These skills include 10 years of cabling, fiber, rack and infrastructure build experience. Extensive knowledge and experience LAN/WAN construction projects is the most desirable.
Educational Requirements
This technician position prefers a degree in information technology or a computer science field or equivalent on the job training, along with a good knowledge of networking infrastructure builds and protocols.

CNIT, CCNA, BICSII, or other network infrastructure certifications are a significant plus in salary consideration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
