Senior Planner Early Works and GPP services

We are looking for Senior Planner Early Works and GPP services for one of our clients with the following details:

Duration: 12 months with the possibility for 12 months extension

Location: Basrah, Iraq

Rotation - 28 days ON, 28 days OFF

Start: June 2024

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Mandatory experience in a similar position: 5 Years on Oil & Gas Construction project
  • Degree: Engineer or equivalent
  • Professional experience: 15 years minimum.
  • Excellent knowledge in Scheduling and progress control techniques and tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Primavera, MS Office tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of contract management
  • Project management skills (Budget/Cost/Schedule)
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Language: English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing), French and/or Arabic language is a plus.
  • Recent Working experience in Iraq will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

  • To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE and to implement HSSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
  • To liaise and coordinate with the Project Control team, and specifically with the Planning & Reporting Lead, from whom he shall comply with rules and requirements (functional link).
  • To define (and update as necessary), in liaison with the PC Planning & Reporting Lead, a suitable Early works & GPP Work Breakdown Structures complying with GGIP and GMP needs in terms of progress control, cost control and reporting, for all phases of the Project.
  • To define (and update as necessary), in liaison with the PC Planning & Reporting Lead, suitable Early Works & GPP Weekly and Monthly Report structure complying with Project needs and to develop and issue accordingly detailed and accurate GMP weekly and Monthly Reports (and any other report as requested).
  • To participate to the development, update and revision, for the GMP overall Project Schedules as required by PC Planning & Reporting Lead, and to provide analyses and simulations of new schedules also as required.
  • To coordinate the activities performed by the Planning and Reporting engineers on sites, giving clear instructions for consistency of activities.
  • To control implementation of EPC Contractors' procedures and schedules, scheduling and progress control methodology on site, to monitor EPC contractors' execution schedule on site, to check and approve EPC Contractors' progress measurement and progress reports for site activities.
  • To liaise actively with the Construction Manager and Deputy, with Contract administrator and quantity surveyor, as well as, in general, with all specialists, discipline Leaders, Company supervision team, for all scheduling and progress measurement related activities.
  • To timely report to the Planning and reporting Lead and Construction Manager, highlighting progress and encountered areas of concern.
  • To ensure and impose strict confidentiality for all the scheduling and progress measurement related documentation produced (whatever its support).
  • To gather 'lessons learnt' wrt to scheduling, progress control and reporting matters and provide feedback to QA Team and PC Team.
  • To prepare minutes of meetings and key messages regarding scheduling and progress, for daily, weekly and monthly meetings
  • To participate in schedule risk analysis exercises
