The role is for a Senior / Principal Process Engineer working within the Box Encapsulation Plant (BEP) Process Intelligent Customer (IC) team to provide assurance, assistance and oversight for the full scope of process design work being delivered by the BEP Design Team (Joint Venture).

The role also includes responsibility for the update, production and ensuring the correct governance of various technical reports, assessments and specifications to support the delivery of BEP.

A Senior / Principal Process Engineer with experience of Nuclear Process Engineering design with production of key process design deliverables and technical documentation for a major new build project. The role is to provide additional support to the existing Process IC Team and report to the Process Responsible Engineer (RE). The role therefore requires the candidate to integrate with the existing Process IC team, bringing previous demonstrable experience in the delivery of full life-cycle solutions for significant major projects.

To be effective in this role the candidate will require resilience, strong leadership, communication and co-ordination skills, with the ability to manage priorities and demands.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BEng / BSc Process / Chemical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience in Nuclear Design.
  • Able to achieve Baseline security clearance (minimum).
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering previous significant/major projects through all phases of design delivery and support through to finalised delivery of operating plants.
  • Ability to provide Intelligent Customer oversight to Process Engineering Design.
  • Fulfil role of ‘Designer’ under the CDM Regulations.
  • Understanding of thedesign process related practices and experience (preferably at all stages of design life-cycle, concept and front end through to detail design and manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning).
  • Awareness of relevant national and international codes, specifications, standards and legislation relevant to Process Engineering Design.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to apply ‘Engineering Fit for Purpose Judgement’ where appropriate.
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer.
  • Baseline security cleared.
  • Understanding of NEC3 contracts.
  • Experience of implementing R&D / technical work into plant design.
  • Design and commissioning experience of grout / powder handling facilities.

Additional Information

The role holder should preferably hold SC clearance or have started their application, with the belief that there should be no grounds for this level of clearance to be denied.
