Senior/Principal Transport Planner

There is an excellent opportunity for a Senior/Principal Transport Planner based in Basingstoke, with a salary range of £38,000 - £50,000, depending on experience. The role is with a well-established, independent transport planning consultancy that serves both private and public-sector clients, offering a broad range of services in development planning projects (Residential / Employment / Retail / Leisure / Education / Health). These projects include significant infrastructure developments such as gallery extensions, Garden Villages, new Ports, and high-standard golf courses!



They are looking for someone with 3 – 8 years of experience to join a strong team of 24 transport planners.



The senior/principal transport planner should have the following skill set:



-          A good understanding of the principles of transport planning 



-          Good presentation and technical writing skills



-          An ability to manage their own time to meet project deadlines



-          An ability to work with other consultancies in multi-discipline teams on development projects including residential, commercial, retail, and leisure developments



-          An ability to project manage smaller and medium sized projects



-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills 



-          Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documents, including:  



Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Chapters

-          Experience in building, running and understanding the outputs of Junctions 10 and LinSig software.



-          Knowledge of highway design in MfS, DMRB, LTN1/20 and the requirements of Active Travel England and Healthy Streets



-          An ability to pursue business development opportunities and building client relationships supporting in negotiations, and attending meetings, with Highway Authorities.



-          Experience in preparing proposals for new projects and budget management.



-          Inspiring, developing, and mentoring less-experienced members of staff.
