This is a technical role within the Process Engineering department, recognized for its specialized expertise. The individual will leverage advanced computer tools and scientific methods to support analyses. Clear documentation of the technical basis for all analyses is expected, along with the preparation of detailed reports or white papers to communicate results effectively. Independent, high-quality work is a key expectation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide process design and technical support for various technologies including Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and water treatment systems.
- Use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Flow Modeling to optimize and validate designs.
- Collect and analyze data, develop resolution plans, and execute them to achieve desired results, while consulting with peers and industry experts when necessary.
- Create and refine process designs based on customer specifications and data.
- Identify when additional data is needed and evaluate the risks of proceeding without it.
- Innovate within design parameters to gain a competitive advantage while managing associated risks.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different pollutant control strategies and assess plant layouts for compatibility with the technologies being implemented.
- Utilize a variety of tools such as computer models, spreadsheets, graphics, and design tables to create practical and innovative solutions.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the technologies, engineering methods, and materials needed to execute the designs.
- Follow engineering standards and industry best practices to ensure quality and technical integrity in all work.
- Strive for continuous improvement of products and processes to reduce costs and enhance performance.
- Prepare technical reports, manuals, and white papers to update stakeholders on progress and key metrics.
- Communicate and present findings clearly to peers, clients, senior management, regulators, and external professionals.
- Comply with all organizational policies, safety standards, and quality programs.
- Stay informed on industry advancements and adopt relevant technologies as appropriate.
- Cultivate relationships with key vendors to support design improvements.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering is required
- At least 10 years of experience in SNCR, SCR, or water treatment systems, with a solid background in utility boilers and industrial furnaces.
- Familiarity with structural drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Logic Diagrams, and other engineering documentation.
- CFD modeling experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- CAD skills are a plus, but not required.
- Strong writing skills for technical reports and business communication.
- Able to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) may be required, including extended periods (up to a week) in the field or international travel.
