Senior Process Engineer (Refinery Focused Processes)
Responsible for designing and engineering the process flow and characteristics for an end-of-life plastics recycling facility, collaborating with outsourced engineering firms. Develop Process Mass Balance and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), and Line Lists; validate conceptual designs and prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement, control loop, and logic diagrams. Prepare Instrument Process Data Sheets, perform calculations for control valves, develop pressure relief devices, and compile relief load summaries; validate vendor data sheets for instruments, control valves, and pressure safety valves. Create equipment design and process data sheets, and validate vendor data sheets for equipment. Evaluate and provide feedback on deliverables from stakeholders such as third-party engineering firms, consultants, and investor engineers; make necessary revisions and optimizations. Design complex engineering packages and seek vendors or expertise as needed. Conduct literature reviews and engage in engineering discussions with potential solution partners and vendors to improve processes and optimize engineering CAPEX and OPEX. Create alternative design solutions, perform concept comparisons, and establish comparison criteria. Actively participate in operations at the client's pilot plant in Istanbul, Sancaktepe, Pasakoy; design trials and conduct runs with technicians to collect and evaluate data for heat and mass balance development activities. Array Capable of working independently and collaborating with cross-functional teams from various countries in a dynamic environment. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. At least six years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Chemical industries. Experienced in designing industrial plants, especially hydrocarbon refineries; adept at compiling process design data, finalizing process schemes, and selecting equipment. Technically proficient and experienced in handling pressure vessels, reactors, and both static and rotating process equipment. Skilled in using process simulation software like Hysys, Aspen, Unisim, Flarenet, Pipenet, AFT Impulse, AFT Phatom, etc., as well as 2D & 3D drawing software (such as CAD), MS Project, reporting tools, and any other required software. Highly proficient in English. No restrictions on traveling and staying abroad when necessary. No military obligations for male candidates. Thorough understanding of HSE and HAZOP practices; capable of assisting with HAZOP-SIL and following up on actions until closure. Familiar with major international standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, EN, ISO, and CTI. Currently, a first commercial-scale facility for converting plastics to circular hydrocarbons is being developed in Belgium. The new hires will be responsible for the design and development of this groundbreaking project, with the opportunity to relocate to Antwerp for construction, commissioning, and operation after the successful completion of the "Final Investment Decision."
