Senior Process Engineer - Technology Transfer
Overview:
In this role, you will provide engineering technical direction to develop and deploy initiatives supporting the vision for the future state of the network on a global level incl. potential entry of new process operations, key evolving technologies, and Engineering Systems. You will develop and improve processes, optimize pharmaceutical processing equipment, and plant utilities, and provide guidance on design and procedures for Upstream and Downstream mAb processes and Single Use Technologies.
As the Global Process Engineer, you will be the subject matter expertise in technical investigations and in the technology transfer on new products/processes, fostering continuous improvement and equipment and facility performance optimization efforts and provide project engineering support as required for new processing equipment installations and modifications to existing equipment, with focus on Upstream and Downstream mAb processes and Single Use Technologies.

Principal Accountabilities:
Supports the development of global and local strategic plans for maintaining and implementing technologies and platforms related to Upstream and Downstream mAb processes and Single Use Technologies on across the FDB network, managing the balance between the immediate and long-term impact of technical direction and guides the organization to execution in this balance.
Assuming Technical Project Guidance and/or support roles to support the technical aspects of projects, e.g. with the purpose to:Develop feasibility studies and conceptual briefs on major strategic projects
Feasibility and "fit for purpose" assessments including selection processes of systems and equipment
Provide technical expertise on Upstream and Downstream mAb processes and Single Use Technologies
Support specifications, purchasing, design, qualification and handover of effective new processes, technologies and manufacturing systems to Asset Teams
Optimize existing workflows to keep things running as smoothly as possible and eliminating waste
Support improvements to technology transfer practices by providing continuous feedback on process performance to owners.
Interface with internal/ external technical experts and peers to maintain a broad knowledge of the technology and regulatory issues that impact on the biopharmaceutical businesses enabling technology options to be identified, evaluated, and compared.
Collaborates with global and cross-functional teams across the FDB network on engineering topics and interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters including those that require coordination between organizational units in larger groups.
Background Requirements and Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Electrical, Biochemical, Chemical, or other Engineering disciplines with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing or engineering environments; or
Master's degree required in Electrical, Biochemical, Chemical or other Engineering disciplines with 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing or engineering environments.
Have a proven track record of the management of large technical projects/portfolios in a complex environment, and advanced expertise in Upstream and Downstream mAb processes and Single Use Technologies.
Demonstrated leadership skills; Ability to develop strategic relationships.
Demonstrated experience with quality systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other analytical applications.
Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills, effectively engaging, facilitating, with the ability to influence and collaborate with others.
Ability to understand complex issues, evaluate them critically, and navigate a goal-oriented process.
Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to identify, assess, and resolve business problems, issues, risks and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients and internal colleagues and stakeholders in a matrixed team environment.
Experience with ongoing prioritization, risk management and decision making, conflict resolution; integrates customer requirements, contract knowledge and input from functional experts to drive execution, decision making and team ownership/accountability.
Focused on productivity, efficiency, simplification, and right first time.
Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for streamlining team and business processes to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
Strong collaboration skills to partner with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely completion of deliverables and to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high level of sustainable performance.
Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure to meet deadlines.
Well organized with ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
