Senior Production Planner

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Senior Production & Supply Chain Planner to join a leading specialist Manufacturing business.



You will oversee Production scheduling and Supply Chain delivery to ensure reliable and consistent supply of finished goods, being responsible for MRP driven production scheduling and Just In Time supply chain delivery of raw materials.



You will chair the weekly Raw material meetings – detailing stock levels and order proposals, working closely with Production, Stores and Supply Chain to ensure smooth and effective running of supplies and production. You will also work closely with Finance to support forecasting, cash and PO management.



Key Responsibilities:



* Manage the company’s MRP system to drive production scheduling and ensure materials are delivered on time from multiple suppliers (UK, Europe and Far East)



* Recommend production priorities in order to achieve company goals



* Work on the development of system improvements and reporting to support continuous improvement in accuracy and timeliness of deliveries



* Take responsibility to ensure accurate and timely product set up on the system



* Source additional suppliers as required



* Support the negotiation of price, service delivery and payment terms in the best interest of the company



* Hold suppliers to account regarding their performance against SLAs



* Manage the logistics delivery of raw materials, understanding the lead time variables and logistics requirements per supplier to ensure on-time delivery for all materials



* Understand the make-up of product BOM costs



* Negotiate supplier contracts



Skills & Experience:



* Supply chain and production planning experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment



* ERP/ MRP experience



* An independent thinker able to take ownership, use their initiative and manage both upwards and sideways to progress continuous improvement



* To quickly reach a working knowledge of products and materials (finished goods and raw materials)



* High IT literacy, especially Excel and ideally Sequel



* Demonstrate the ability to negotiate



* A track record of delivering continuous improvement



* Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills



* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills



* Can work independently with the ability to problem-solve
