
Senior Project Engineer
Position Summary This role is based in Oceaneering Perth office which is located in Jandakot. The Jandakot facility contains a state of the art workshop and a dynamic engineering team and workshop technician pool. The team handles projects covering life of field operations including and not limited to FEED, Drill Support, Bespoke Engineered Solutions, Subsea Equipment Scopes (design, repair, maintenance, preservation and storage), IMR, IWOCS, Intervention and Decommissioning. The Project Engineer is an integral member of the operations team. The position is designed to be a focal point to ensure that subsea and topside projects scopes are specified, manufactured, tested and installed to meet operational objectives, company, national and international standards to ensure it integrate into and work well as an overall system. The Project Engineer works collaboratively with the project management team, other functional departments including operations and production, HSE & Quality and suppliers and contractors and required to prepare proposals and reports for clients. Duties & Responsibilities lEnsuring that Oceaneering’s HSE Management System and expectations are fully implemented with Regional Operations and compliant with local regulations lPersonal compliance with Oceaneering and client company HSE & Quality policies and procedures lPreparation and review of project scope of work, technical specifications, subsea equipment and system design layouts and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable company, national and international standards and industry best practice. lPrepare, review and sign off on project documentation including but not limited to scope of work, project execution plans, drawings, specifications, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, quality documentation, FAT/SIT test procedures, test records, minutes of meeting, change management registers, installation procedures and other project documentation. lEnsure work scopes are well defined, well planned and are implemented in an effective and efficient manner. lManagement of equipment supply vendors and contractors including monitoring progress, review and approval AU-HRM-PD-0062Cameron Burchell Revision 1Page 1 of 5 of vendor documentation, answering technical queries and resolving technical issues to ensure supply vendors performance is actively tracked, managed and deliveries comply with project requirements. lDirect coordination and supervision of site works including equipment assembly, testing, mobilisation and offshore installation to ensure works are completed in accordance with project specific HSE & Quality, technical, schedule and cost objectives. lCoordination of and participation in project specific HAZOPs and HAZIDs to ensure equipment and equipment systems are safe to operate and install lAssist the Project Manager with managing client expectations, provide technical input and recommendations, client education, risk identification and evaluation lCommunicate Oceaneering and client company HSE & Quality policies and procedures to supply vendors and contractors to ensure these are accepted in accordance with project requirements. S/he is required to support the implementation of the Oceaneering HSE & Quality Core Processes lProvide support during offshore campaigns when required, including onshore engineering support or offshore coverage. Where a suitable level of competence has been demonstrated, the project engineer may be assigned responsibility for the supervision of offshore intervention and installation activities lAbility to prepare work pack for the in-house workshops, trouble shoot any technical issues and occasional direct supervision of workshop personnel. lClient facing role during scope execution and tender stages. lManaging cost control and forecasts, invoicing and budgeting during project execution. Critical skills and experience ¿At least 3-7 years of subsea equipment and subsea project related experience is essential lRequires knowledge of a range of subsea equipment including subsea completions, trees, manifolds, umbilicals, flowlines, control system components and subsea interfaces. lExperience with managing fabrication vendors for structures; generating technical specifications, ITP, knowledge of applicable Australian Standards related to welding, fabrication and nondestructive testing, vendor management on site. lOffshore operations and installation experience from vessels, including diving or ROV operations is essential lAbility to assess causes of technical problems and device quick and cost-effective solutions. Strong technical writing and analytical skills is essential. lUnderstanding of engineering design of mechanical systems, hydraulics, tooling. experience with running tools is valued. lAbility to challenge subsea specifications, processes and procedures with a view to simplification and delivering value is essential lAbility to assess and implement design code requirements (ie API, DNV, ISO, AS etc.) is essential lSpecify 3rd party contractor’s scopes, manage, monitor, dispute resolution and persuasion AU-HRM-PD-0062Cameron Burchell Revision 1Page 2 of 5 lProven project execution skills, along with ability to work efficiently within a diverse team Travel requirements related to this position lAdhoc local travel to supply vendors and contractors works and mobilisation yards. lAdhoc travel to offshore production facilities, drilling rigs and installation vessels (not essential) lNormal office work requirements of 8 hour day, 40 hour week that can be worked flexibly subject to operational requirements lSite work both onshore and offshore may require 12 hour day, 7 day week (not applicable to this role) lThe role will be based in Perth with working from home arrangements agreed to on a case-by-case basis Safety lEnsure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment; lPromote a strong HSE culture at all times; lEnsure that personnel identify with and achieve, the necessary Health and Safety performance standards associated with the relative risks to personnel and plant in their environment and daily work; lEnsure that business and HSE risk implications of integrity issues are clearly identified and assessed for consideration within the Oceaneering Integrity Management Team and communicated to the Client; lCarry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems; lPerform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems for the Company; and lEliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
