Senior Project Engineer's Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Project Engineer for our Solar Division will require 50% travel or 100% on site remote projects.
• The Senior Project Engineer will be directly responsible for coordination of internal stakeholders, engineering partners, and clients to ensure successful engineering and construction support of projects during the late-stage preconstruction and construction phases.
• Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the completion of project engineering through IFC and ensuring the construction team operates in accordance with IFC design and good engineering practice.
• Project Engineer will act as project lead on technical aspects of their assigned projects
• Project Engineer will ensure contractual, technical, and quality requirements are met in accordance with prime contract, in accordance to applicable codes & standards, and in accordance with Flintco / Alberici quality and safety guidelines.
• Project Engineer will support Operations and will liaison with internal and external engineering resources.
• Manage third party engineering and design firms with deliverable of IFC design for Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical PV, BESS, and Substation designs as applicable
• Lead Design Reviews at milestone stages of Design
• Work with Project Managers, Site Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and Field Engineers toward the successful construction of PV & BESS Projects
• Propose and Review Value Engineering Opportunities for projects, including economic and technical analysis
• Ensure successful adherence to Project Schedule and Budget
• Submit, Review, and Approve RFIs, Project Submittals, Transmittals, Meeting Minutes, etc.
• Perform material takeoffs for construction as necessary
• Lead coordination calls with a regular cadence for third-party EORs, clients, and other stakeholders
• Ensure project documentation is aligned with company standards and project records are maintained
• Lead permitting coordination as required
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
• Experienced technical lead on PV projects
• Electrical knowledge
• Understanding of construction best-practices for utility-scale PV Systems
• Understanding of relevant products and components of PV & BESS Systems
• Ability to assess performance of yourself and others in order to take corrective actions and make improvements
• Effective communication - written and verbal
• Experience with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, PVSYST, Autodesk Autocad or Civil3d
• Ability or willingness to train and develop peers
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
• Five or more years in construction or renewable energy power plant construction experience
• Minimum of two years of relevant construction or engineering experience
