Reports in Office Location: Orange, CT

Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $114,000-$142,916

Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager will support the delivery of transformation projects and contribute to implementing process change across the Networks organization. They will be responsible for delivering strategic transformation projects, advising implementation teams on the most appropriate methodology, and working closely with different roles in the organization to shape and guarantee project delivery. This role will support staff in moving to new ways of working based on cultural and behavioral changes and adopting Global Standards to deliver results to the Network Business. The Senior Project Manager will work effectively across a diverse range of areas spanning multiple business units, such as Operations and Projects, General Services, Processes and Technology, Customer Services, Planning, and Regulation to enable effective change and realization of projected benefits. This position is located in Orange, CT with occasional travel to all locations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of key projects across the Networks Business from initiation to close, ensuring that the project’s delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time, and with expected results.
  • Contribute to the scope definition and delivery of business cases in collaboration with other businesses.
  • Manage project risks and impacts.
  • Execute process analysis, identify cross-organizational interdependencies, and obtain insights from external models and developments in other Iberdrola companies.
  • Take the lead on project challenges to deliver the expected outcomes.
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces between ongoing projects.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor the project’s overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and implement contributions to the projects.
  • Work with the implementation teams on the transition to the 'new' business-as-usual position.
  • Propose and implement interventions wherever gaps in the project are identified, or issues arise.
  • Report progress of the project at regular intervals to the Vice President/Networks Transformation.
  • Produce business plans for the project so they can be approved through Avangrid’s governance.
  • Propose, implement, and follow up on efficient initiatives.
  • Contribute to the short, medium, and long-term strategies, proposing actions for the area aligned with the company's strategic planning and legislation, ensuring the maximization of results in the company's strategic value chain, enabling improvements in the quality of resources generated by the area, and deepening the commercial and financial scope of the contracts signed.
  • Participate and contribute to the implementation of the Digital Transformation of the organization.
  • Encourage and promote improvements in technological innovation and processes.
  • Create and distribute cost management reports to Networks Business Analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree and 5-7 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification or equivalent experience in process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Internalization/Right-sizing/Workforce balance.
  • Experience in project execution and turnaround/efficiency/transformation projects implementation.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodology and recognized technical background in the energy distribution segment.
  • Experience in implementing relevant projects or initiatives.
  • Experience in financial analysis and formulation of business cases.
  • Experience in budget control and reports.

  • Practical engineering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.")

Required Competency Level: Intermediate

  • Knowledge of aspects of the following business functional areas: Electric/Gas Operations, Projects, Customer Services, and Processes and Technology.
