We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Senior Project Managers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for a particular HPC sub-area to deliver assigned scope in line with relevant Safety:Quality:Time:Cost targets.
  • Build a team with diverse and complementing backgrounds and experience.
  • Working closely with the HPC Area Delivery Teams, define the work scope to be delivered by the contract or contracts.
  • Ensure the priorities to support the delivery of the L4 schedule, driven by site installation, are clear to other members of the MEH Programme, including Manufacturing, Engineering and Procurement. Become the leading beacon for setting direction to the overall Programme.
  • Work closely with other Programmes (Civils, Equipment, Commissioning) and Delivery Integration to achieve relevant interface milestones that support delivery of the MEH schedule.
  • Establish relevant elements of Task Orders for instruction into the MEH Installation Contract, together with the development and maintenance of an appropriate MDAL (Master Data and Assumption Log).
  • In partnership with the MEH Area Construction Lead, undertake all pre-construction readiness to ensure that design, materials, temporary works etc are available at pre-determined lead times.
  • Drive the timely resolution of Field Change (FCR’s), Non-Conformance (NCRs), Request For Information (RFIs) and any other constraints to delivery that the Construction Leads require support on.
  • Conduct Project Review and Performance Analysis monthly for the specific area.
  • Through CEMAR, lead all Contract Administration including establishment of Task Orders, resolving queries and early warnings and notably, ensuring the Client’s obligations under the contract are discharged in a timely manner.
  • Lead activities required to comply with HPC Project Governance, including progression of Change Control (PCR’s) as appropriate.


Skills, Experience & Qualification:

  • Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate success in managing / developing: Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery. Multi-discipline EPCM projects, Procurement and management of complex contracts. Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools, Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Understanding of EPR design and construction is advantageous.
  • Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field desirable but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
  • Can demonstrate experience of managing project through the project lifecycle from concept to handover
  • Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
  • Understand how to apply a graded approach to quality
