Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Project Manager - Nuclear Projects opening for our client in Richland, WA.

Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Manage projects with a total cost typically greater than $10M, including planning, scheduling, and control of activities.
  • Lead project teams with more than ten people, handling multidiscipline projects and programs involving high complexity, risk, and financial investment.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track cost versus budget, and ensure projects are implemented safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary, including managing critical paths and float.
  • Prepare work packages, handle parts procurement, and oversee risk management and industrial safety protocols.
  • Interface with clients, engineers, vendors, and management to ensure project goals are met.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced project managers, providing leadership and support as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to senior management.
  • Develop and manage project schedules that account for complexity and risk while ensuring accurate tracking of progress.
  • Support outage activities and work prioritization as needed.
  • Assist with the effective implementation of the Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program for the Columbia Generating Station.

Skills:

  • Expert in project management techniques, especially for complex multidiscipline projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Office, Passport, etc.).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
  • Expertise in industrial and nuclear safety, including ALARA planning and clearance order preparation.
  • Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, including vendors, clients, engineers, and senior management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in a technical field, with at least 10 years in project management within the nuclear industry.
  • Significant experience in managing large-scale, high-risk projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and project controls in a nuclear environment.
  • Previous mentoring or leadership roles, with demonstrated expertise in guiding less experienced project managers.
  • Familiarity with outage activities, work management, and nuclear operations is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A Project Management Certification is required.
  • A RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification is required.
  • Advanced degree or specialized certifications are highly desirable.

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability to manage complex projects and make decisions under pressure.
  • Expertise in cost-effective work execution methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills in a nuclear setting.
  • Ability to effectively communicate project status to senior management.

Desired Abilities and Skills:

  • Experience in management roles, especially in the commercial nuclear industry.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and regulatory requirements as they relate to operations, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Previous involvement with industry committees or external audits/assessments.
  • Experience in evaluating and improving organizational, technical, and maintenance programs.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60/hr to $83/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
