Senior Project Planner

Job Description

OBM are recruiting an experienced Senior Project Planner on behalf of our client who is a leading operator within the Oil & Gas Industry based in Aberdeen. This is a long-term contract role where the successful candidate would be responsible for providing project planning support to deliver against a project schedule which includes both Appraisal and Concept Development, to support an accelerated delivery schedule.

Although there is preference for this role to be based in Aberdeen, there is scope to work from our client's offices in West London.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Be able to deliver precedence networks and demonstrate abilities to logic link activities and plans activities across multi discipline teams and develop integrated schedules to cover all areas (Subsurface, D&C, Engineering, Commercial, Permitting, HSE management systems, Procurement & Contracts, including financial commitments, internal approvals, assurance).
• Manage the Primavera Database about Activity coding and ensuring database is maintained with correct and latest information for UK-wide reporting.
• Produce high level summary schedules for team communications / updates to NSTA / HQ /Partners.
• Manage change at various planning stages and clearly communicate the schedule impacts and opportunities.
• Verify progress and performance against plan, identify areas of potential schedule overrun requiring corrective action, forecast completions and provide accurate and timely project reports.
• Clearly articulate the key dates in the plans and the associated planning calendar expectations (when inputs must be delivered, freeze dates, plan baselines etc.).

Minimum Qualifications / Certifications:

• HNC, relevant degree or equivalent in qualifications.
• Detailed working knowledge and abilities in Primavera P6 / Microsoft Project / Microsoft Excel.

Minimum Competencies:

• Previous project experience particularly frontend during the early project stages.
• Conversant with all the key facets of a typical project i.e., Concept Screening / Engineering / Design / Procurement / Fabrication/ Onshore Testing / Offshore Construction / Commissioning / Operations.
• Experience of development planning and the key steps and interaction between subsurface, commercial, finance, approvals, gates, project, drilling and handover to operations.
• Detailed working knowledge and proven abilities in developing, implementing and maintaining integrated Project Plans within Primavera.
