Senior QA Engineer – Financial Services | API Integration | Remote/Hybrid
Outside IR35 – 3 months initially.

About the Role
As a Senior QA Engineer within this FTSE 250 Financial Services company, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless digital customer journey within a dynamic, Agile environment. You will work across bespoke applications, technical documentation, quality assurance, and release management. Your expertise in manual and automated testing will help drive quality, innovation, and efficiency in a financial services setting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- API & Integration Testing – Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for seamless integration between various systems.
- Test Automation – Build and maintain API and UI automation frameworks using tools like Postman, RestAssured, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Agile Collaboration – Work closely with developers, BAs, and product owners in a Scrum/Kanban environment.
- CI/CD Integration – Implement automated test scripts into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Defect Management – Identify, report, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
- Third-Party System Validation – Verify integrations with external vendors, payment gateways, and financial service providers.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of QA experience in Financial Services – ideally within banking, insurance, payments, or investment platforms.
- Strong experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured).
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth, and authentication mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting (Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and using BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of financial compliance, security standards, and risk-based testing.
Please note this is a hybrid opportunity with a requirement of 2 / 3 days in the office a week.
